Tottenham Hotspur trampled Everton 5-0 in what was a surprising show of strength. The team manufactured goal after goal leaving everyone surprised. Many are crediting the rapid turnaround to Antonio Conte’s return and his excellent managerial skills. The five goals included an own goal from Michael Keane, a brace by Harry Kane, and a goal each by Son Heung-Ming and Sergio Reguilon.
Antonio Conte: A Shot in the Arm for Tottenham
Ever since Conte’s return, Tottenham have been on fire. Just a few weeks ago they beat Manchester City 3-2 and now they’ve laid 5 on Everton without looking like they are struggling. Honestly, it wasn’t a struggle for them. They have a new, well-skilled and experienced manager and have always had a capable side with star-quality and prowess. Antonio Conte was the tactician the team needed to perform at a peak level and it’s just a marvel to watch the quick turnaround at the club since his return.
Another Brace for Harry Kane
Monday’s game was another strong point for Harry Kane as he scored another brace. The two goals marked five goals in four games for the Tottenham vice-captain. He is doing phenomenally well and it seems that Conte’s presence and game plan are doing wonders for him. It also seems that Kane is doing much better without the excess leadership responsibility that was shredded when he was demoted to vice-captain.
An Eye on the Top Four in the EPL
Tottenham have always been and will remain top-four material in the English Premier League. They are a team who can do far much better than they have previously done and Conte is the man to ensure that happens. The team also has a good enough squad to secure a spot in the top four, if not win the league altogether. With the likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung-Ming at the fore, Spurs are capable of getting themselves to the top of the league. Spurs are currently seventh in the EPL table with 45 points. There’s no question about their capability or potential and their 5-0 spectacle win is just a sign of the Tottenham to come.
