Liverpool Likely to Lose Premier League Title this Season

Liverpool had an incredible 2019/20 season but are slumping in the current 2020/21 season at fourth place in league standings. Liverpool have 40 points so far, 10 points behind league leaders Manchester City. Manchester United are second in league standings with 45 points, Leicester third with 43 points, and then Liverpool fourth. Chelsea trails Liverpool with 39 points. Chelsea have had a rough patch to the extent that they fired their manager Frank Lampard and replaced him with former PSG coach Thomas Tuchel. We are yet to see if Tuchel can really bring back the form of the youngster-filled Chelsea team. Chelsea stars such as Tammy Abraham, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, and Timo Werner have been having a difficult time scoring. Even their star goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has had a difficult time shining.

Manchester United

Manchester United have outdone themselves this season as compared to the 2019/20 season. The Red Devils seem to be in good form and top shape. The club’s management may have just been right not to sack Gunnar Ole Solksjaer, Manchester United’s manager. Manchester United at second place at this point in the season have a good chance of getting to the top four and becoming league champions. Players like Edison Cavani and Bruno Fernandes have proved crucial players in the team’s bid for league victory. Manchester United is slowly becoming the team that we know it to be, a juggernaut in English and club football. Glory Glory Manchester United!

Leicester remain a fine squad and have really fought to get themselves in the top four. At third-place so far, Leicester are likely to finish the season in the top four. The team’s manager Brendan Rodgers has shown consistency in his management of the club. Leicester have a good chance of surprising everyone and really going for the top spot. The team has shown that it has the capacity and drive to become league champions. The team is far more stable and entuned to its style of play and the players to their coach than teams like Chelsea and Arsenal. Arsenal have trailed behind this season in a way that is hard to believe. The team is currently in 11th place with 31 points. Eleventh place! What a shame. Leicester are set to clash with table leaders Manchester City in Matchweek 24. Get Liverpool fixtures and results here.

Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool have to win all their games and pray that the top four teams lose most of theirs, to have a chance at retaining the premier league title. As defending champions, Liverpool should really pull up its socks and get the fire back. Jurgen Klopp has done a good job so far, but he needs to take the team back to its glory days. Liverpool may even lose a spot at the top four if the current trend is anything to go by. Players such as Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, and Virgil van Dijk are capable of turning Liverpool’s fortune around and seeing the team through the current rough patch. The squad at Anfield is a top-tier squad, and it only needs a little tweaking to have it back roaring and ready to rumble. Klopp’s formula worked in the 2019/20 season, but he now needs to consider a new strategy to get his team fired up and believe in something more; glory.
